Creating of Common Socio-Economic Development Strategies — West Poland Example

Abstract

In global and integrated with EU economy, in some market turbulences and looking for financial funds, there is a consolidation of smaller territorial units into big mega ones. That’s for creation of units which can implement common development strategies, making use of potentials of subregions in another way, creation big functional areas and cohered areas with wide offer for all groups of consumers. In Poland the macroregions have advantage because of big activation of local government in the field of cohered goals of unit. West Poland is a unit that has a great potential of localization. Common development strategy of West Poland has a goal to help the area for competitiveness, openness, and reaching of benefits of scale and synergy effects.
