Importance of Endogenous Factors of Regional Development in the Light of Empirical Research

Abstract

The development factors of the region represent some features or combinations of these to be used in a specific place and time, leading to a positive changes in the territory. The most important driving force of the region are endogenous factors. They consist of, among others, social and economic potential, location and infrastructure, availability of production factors and entrepreneurship. The aim of the study was to evaluate the use of endogenous factors of development of economic, infrastructural and spatial sphere in the Leszno subregion. In particular, it focuses on the ability to innovate and develop new techniques and technologies, the importance of business environment institutions and factors relating to location, which according to the author have a particular impact on the development of the subregion.
