Since 1918, Palestine was under British occupation The members of the Irgun were recruited from revisionists Zionists, the most right-wing part of the movement, which sought to restore the Jewish state. The head of this group was a poet, an activist military Vladimir Jabotinsky. His supporters have proposed: the abolition of British control over that part of the Middle East; the creation of a Jewish state on the east and west of the river Jordan; allowing the Jews living in Europe unlimited ability to reach Palestine.
