Abstract

The article is devoted to the Jewish community of the city of Chemnitz in Saxony, which now consists mostly of immigrants from the former USSR countries. The article briefly describes the religiosity of people belonging to the kehilla and their knowledge of traditions. Actions taken by the community aimed at resuming religious activity are described. Some attention was also paid to the issues of religious education of the young generation, an element of which is primarily participation in the domestic liturgy for the Sabbath, holidays and all occasions related to the life cycle. It has been noted that, despite linguistic and cultural difficulties, significant changes are taking place towards the revival of religious life, and with it, attachment to the Jewish tradition.
