The life and service of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński cannot be properly understood without the women whom Providence placed upon his life’s path. God wanted these women to assist Wyszyński in his service as a bishop and a primate for the good of the Church and the homeland. They conscientiously fulfilled the duties entrusted to their care and he led them with a sure hand towards holiness. The Primate was responsible not only for his most immediate aides but he wanted to help all the women in Poland. He met and spoke with them, indicating their dignity and the role which they needed to play in the society. His requests and appeals were eagerly accepted, as
the women prayed in the entrusted intentions and guarded the hearth and home. In this way, the Primate included them in tasks which they completed with great ardour. Through promoting numerous initiatives for women, he appears as a forerunner of beautiful Christian feminism, whose ideal is Virgin Mary. It is to Her that he owes all his spiritual accomplishments in the Church and the nation. She led him from his childhood through priesthood and bishopric, so he could share Her love with Her children and lead them to God.
