Missionary activity of Polish Redemptorists during World War II

Abstract

In this article, the author has taken up the topic of the missionary work of Polish Redemptorists during World War II. Despite the occupation terror, as only one of the orders in occupied Poland they carried out parish missions in accordance with their charism. The purpose of the author is to show the contribution of Redemptorists in the process of maintenance of moral sovereignty by Poles. Various activities have been discussed here: missionary work on raising the moral life of the nation and strengthening its internal freedom of the spirit, as well as their patriotic and political moods in the face of geopolitical situation in occupied Poland in the years 1939-1945. The source database, which was used in this article, are preserved chronicles and documents stored in the archives of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, as well as more important studies dealing with the following issue.
