Abstract

The article presents an innovative hybrid optimization method based on the bee algorithm, leveraging the arithmetic of directed fuzzy numbers. The primary objective of this integrated approach is to more faithfully replicate the decision-making mechanisms of bees, commonly known as the waggle dance. Utilizing the notation of directed fuzzy numbers (OFN) enables a more precise exchange of information among individuals, resulting in improved optimization algorithm efficiency. The article provides a detailed description of fuzzy functions essential for the operation of the new method, both within the method itself and in the potential utilization of OFN in other algorithms. In light of the lack of literature-available fuzzification methods, the article proposes several innovative approaches in this regard. The new method also incorporates defuzzification functions, drawing from the experiences of two most recognized methods, namely the Golden Ratio and the Mandelbrot Coefficient. The final section presents a description of the new method and the results achieved by OFNBee for selected test functions, such as Bukin N.6, Cross-in-tray, Drop Wave, Eggholder, Levy, and Holder Table.
