The review article discusses concerns related to the rapid development and widespread adoption of systems based on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and their impact on security, as well as ongoing regulatory efforts aimed at imposing limitations on the development and use of such solutions in order to respect human dignity and important human goods and their outcomes. Discrepancies in the perception, assessment, and acceptance of threats arising from different visions of security are factors complicating political consensus on the necessity and scope of regulatory interventions and the urgency of their implementation, as evidenced by the analyzed regulatory attempts. The authors claim that reducing GenAI-related security only to cybersecurity in itself poses a threat. In the conclusions, the authors advocate for initiating education on the subject to intensify social and political dialogue and strengthen cooperation among decision-makers, industries providing GenAI solutions and using such solutions, as well as representatives of civil society, to set priorities for further progress in the field of GenAI, ensuring that these technologies will be developed and used solely for the sake of (integrally understood) human good.
