Russian Historical Policy and the Conflict with Poland

Abstract

The author deals on the significance of Poland in the Russian (post-Sowiet) historical policy adressed abroad. He tries to answer on the question, why his country occupies so large place in this action. The explanation of this state of matter is not difficult. Poland’s history is a blocking factor of Russian narrative on the „collective security” which was promoted by the Soviet Union in the interwar era. Moreover Poland became the principal victim of the Ribbentrop Molotov Pact. In reality she was the first victim of the genocidial policy of two totalitarian (temporarily allied) Powers. In the end, it should be mentioned, that Poland’s special example shows the nonsence of the Russian post Soviet story on the „liberation” of the nations of the East-Central Europe by the Red Army in the years 1944-1945.
