Caring for people suffering from Covid-19 requires professional preparation, but also great wisdom in life, preceded by deep ethical reflection. Suffering is one of the most common phenomena of human life, it is a common feature of all people. The modern epidemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus causes hug functioning, contributing to the intensification of psychological distress, including the enormous suffering of people affected by the disease. Therefore, there is a real need for appropriate research on how to portray suffering, and the presented article deals with this issue. It discusses the understanding of suffering and its importance in the disease of Covid-19 patients compared to those in the internal medicine ward, and the factors influencing the experience of suffering as an opportunity for development or destruction. The analyzes and conclusions are based on our own research carried out in a hospital in coronavirus wards. Keywords: suffering, disease acceptance, COVID-19, values, health psychology.
