Christianity and national identity in Spain

Abstract

Spain in its history was the victim of religious wars. The author of the article shows the struggle of Spain catholic with the enemy, become from reformation, across invasion of Napoleon’s army, to modern period, and problems with Marxism and nationalism. Secularization was a danger not only religion of catholic, but also country. The Catholic religion was one part that connecting of Spain but now has a crisis. As taught, the consequences of this crisis are the growth of separatism, which we saw in Catalonia.
