Sažetak

Data compression and related techniques play a fundamental role in the present media world. Technological progress and common digitalization observed nowadays in media coverage exploit a great range of algorithms and techniques of data compression and transmission. Large number of data and digital information, being stored, processed or transferred requires advanced computer technologies derived from the field of information and communication theory, as well as related to various protocols necessary to deliver information. The quality of processed and delivered data is another important issue.
