The role of the heroic Polish youth in regaining independence (on the example of the shooting and legion movement)

Abstract

The shooting movement created by Józef Piłsudski and his collaborators after the fall of the revolution of 1905 constituted a legal emanation of the secret Union of Active Struggle, an organization established in June 1908 in Lviv, whose aim was to ˮcarry out preparatory work outside the Tsarist border and educate the organizers and managers for the future an armed uprising in the Russian partition. On its basis, Pilsudski Legions were created during World War I.
