    Abstract

    The crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, the outbreak of full-scale aggression in Ukraine, the potential risk on the Russian section, made political decision-makers, society and services aware of the importance of these areas and their impact on state security. The aim of this article is to present the main threats and challenges facing uniformed services in the context of the security of Poland’s eastern borders, primarily with Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. The main focus is on such issues as: illegal migra- tion; intelligence, diversion and sabotage activities; military and hybrid threats. The last part is devoted to the functioning of Polish formations in the conditions of the border crisis, as well as the proposed changes to improve the state of security (both in terms of service pragmatics and law).
