McCarrick Report – commentary on „sensational” media accusations against Cardinal Dziwisz
Abstract
The presented scientific commentary covers the issue of explaining the reasons for the media attacks on Stanisław Cardinal Dziwisz in his service for the Catholic Church. This applies to both the interview of Stanisław Cardinal Dziwisz for editor Piotr Kraśka and the film “Don Stanislao. The Other Face of Cardinal Dziwisz” edited by Marcin Gutowski and “Don Stanislao. P.S”. Media attacks on Stanisław Cardinal Dziwisz, who, as Metropolitan of Krakow, performed all his obligations under public and canon law, as well as the allegations contained in the film “Don Stanislao. The Other Face of Cardinal Dziwisz”, “Don Stanislao. Postscript” are false. Source and methodological commentary to the so-called McCarrick’s reports, his understatements, indicate that the document was created rather in line with a predetermined thesis, with the task of “damnatio memoriae” of John Paul II and removing responsibility from the Roman
Curia, as well as concealing the real beneficiaries of Theodor McCarrick’s activities. The Holy See should consider the proposals for the necessary changes in canon law and / or the practice of applying canon law at the national and Roman Curia level in terms of the establishment of independent commissions at the Episcopate similar to the French one, a Commission in the Roman Curia, and urgently establish a Church Bureau of Investigation in each country.
