The article introduces the methodology and workflows, which were used at the end of the 1980s by the Second Division of the communistic Security Service (SB) of the WUSW (Voivodship Office of Internal Affairs in Piła). The Department was responsible for the intelligence protection and security of military facilities in the Pila province. The reader has the opportunity to learn about the scope of activities and methods used by the Second Department on the basis of a secret document entitled: „Assessment of the intelligence threats for the Pila region in year 1988”. The document was prepared on December 15, 1988 by the Head of Second Department WUSW in Piła, cpt. Henryk Wołoszyński, in order to report to her supervisor, Deputy Chief of the Social Security Department for the Security Service in Piła, lt. col. Stanisław Zając. This document is currently stored in the archive of the Institute of National Remembrance (pol. IPN) in Poznań.
