Update to the Guidelines for Authors Regarding the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools

2026-08-31

We would like to inform you that we have updated the Guidelines for Authors [download] regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools and/or large language models (LLMs) in writing and preparing manuscripts submitted for publication in our journal.

We recognize that AI tools can support researchers at certain stages of the research and writing process. When used responsibly, they can assist with tasks such as organizing ideas, improving language clarity, summarizing the literature, or identifying research gaps (see Section 6 of the Guidelines for Authors).

A declaration regarding the use of AI tools should be included in the manuscript in a separate section placed before the references. A template for the declaration is provided below and is also available in the Guidelines for Authors (see Section 7).
