International Criminal Police Organization Interpol – working methods and instruments

Abstract

International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO) – Interpol is an international intergovernmental organization, which was established on the 7th of September 1923 as the International Criminal Police Commission. International Criminal Police Organization is the oldest and the most important multilateral organization in terms of police force cross-border joint action, and the second, after the United Nations, biggest organization in the world comprising 190 Member States. The Organization was created for mutual assistance in the face of increasing international crime. The aim of this article is to describe the methods and instruments which are used by the Interpol in the struggle against international crime and the perpetrators of these crimes in order to ensure inter- national security.
