Perception of Environmental Problems at the Local Level – a Case Study of Rural Women

Abstract

The article presents the results of a pilot study on the attitudes of women toward the state and protection of the environment locally. Attention was focused on a specific group of respondents, i.e. women taking active measures for socio-economic development in their place of residence The main objective of the study was to assess the state of environmental protection of the environment at the local level, the awareness of the concerns in this regard and the activities undertaken individually or in cooperation with local government and NGOs. Based on literature review, the concept and importance of environmental protection was discussed environment especially in the context of its role as a place to live and spend time at the local level. It was found that women’s activity in the areas studied is significant and varied across macro-regions, which was related to the with the overall state of the environment natural environment.
