Cultural policy of the European Union

Abstract
The aim of the text is to analyse issues connected with the genesis and legal basis of cultural policy of the European Union. The author discusses issues associated with Polish participation in cultural policy of the European Union. It is shown that Polish participation in community’s cultural programmes is not only a chance for the development of cultural actions in the country, but also a way to promote culture in other European countries.
