The Wartime “Journeys” of Prime Minister Leopold Skulski’s Nephews (1914–1920) in Light of Their Descendants’ Memoirs

Abstract

The article presents the wartime experiences (1914–1920) of Eugeniusz Skulski’s three sons – Jarosław, Zbigniew, and Bohdan – who were nephews of Leopold Skulski, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and a native of Zamość. The text is organized into three parts. The first outlines the profile and achievements of Leopold Skulski, who later served as Minister of the Interior. The second introduces the article’s central figures – Skulski’s nephews – and highlights family connections and relationships. The third reconstructs the route of their journey back to Poland, focusing on the most significant events involving the brothers. The article is particularly valuable as it is largely based on primary sources, specifically memoirs and accounts from members of the Skulski family.
