On the Ways of Naming Scientific Knowledge About the Family in the Context of Its Pedagogical Profile

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to demonstrate the significance of metatheoretical discourses in the field of pedagogy for establishing the foundations of family studies. The background for these analyses is a discussion of methods for naming scientific knowledge generated by this field. The first section is devoted to the concept of family studies in terms of administrative solutions. The second section contains meta-theoretical analyses of the concept of "family sciences," as well as references to analogous discussions concerning the understanding of the term “education sciences.” The third section presents variant definitions of scientific knowledge about the family, together with a critical discussion. The fourth section presents a proposal for the pedagogical profiling of metatheoretical reflections conducted in family studies.
