Patriotyzm kard. Augusta Hlonda na tle epoki duchowej

Paweł Bortkiewicz

Аннотация

At the beginning of Poland’s regaining independence, outstanding pastors played a special role: Cardinal Edmund Dalbor, Cardinal Aleksander Kakowski and Bishop Prince Adam Stefan Sapieha. To this group, from the second half of the twenties of the twentieth century, joined primate August Hlond. His pastoral teaching contained important patriotic content, and was not indifferent to the then political and social problems. The Primate, seeing the moral and social condition of the reborn Poland, had no doubt that it was necessary to renew and strive for the fullness of internal life. At the same time, he perceived and warned against threats, he called for fulfilling national duties. The Hierarch perceived and described Polishness in the context of three fundamental concepts: the nation - the state - Catholicism.
