This article concerns the representation of Gothic cathedrals in selected computer games. By comparing these examples, it aims to establish how medieval sacred architecture is perceived and portrayed in digital media. The article discusses several computer strategy, adventure, and role-playing games (RPGs) that feature depictions of sacred buildings associated with the Middle Ages. These programmes frequently utilise the motif of the Gothic cathedral, often treating the image of the temple as a symbol of the medieval period, as well as a picturesque and mysterious setting. In doing so, the creators draw upon the established cultural understanding of Gothic cathedrals.
