Ego-Resiliency, Self-Efficacy, and Well-Being in Students: The Moderating Role of Passion

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the moderating role of harmonious and obsessive passion in the relationships among ego-resiliency, self-efficacy, and well-being in students.

Method: Data were collected using a diagnostic survey method, which included the following research instruments: the Ego-Resiliency Scale, the Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), the Psychological Well-Being Scales (PWBS), and the Passion Scale.

Results: Relationships among the variables were tested using correlational and moderation analyses. Statistical analyses showed that the positive relationship between ego-resiliency and well-being was moderated by harmonious passion, while obsessive passion did not act as a significant moderator.

Conclusions: Ego-resiliency and self-efficacy were identified as important variables associated with student well-being. Harmonious passion was found to moderate the relationship between ego-resiliency and well-being. Moderation analyses showed that obsessive passion did not significantly modify the relationships between ego-resiliency, self-efficacy, and well-being.

Method: The research material was obtained by means of a diagnostic survey method, which included the following research tools: Ego-Resiliency Scale, Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scales (PWB) and Self-Report Passion Scale.

Results: The relationship between variables was tested using correlation and moderation analysis. Statistical analyses showed that the positive relationship between ego-resilience and well-being was moderated by harmonious passion, while obsessive passion did not serve as a moderator.

Conclusions: Ego-resiliency and self-efficacy are significant variables associated with well-being in students, and their interaction is moderated by harmonious passion. Moderation analyses showed that obsessive passion does not significantly modify the relationship between ego-resiliency self-efficacy and well-being.
