Abstract

Social etiquette and good manners are fundamental to proper human conduct. Students receive their initial instruction in decorum and the social graces from their immediate environment; consequently, etiquette continues to be viewed as an essential pillar of upbringing. However, as empirical research confirms, the contemporary educational environment has seen a marked increase in inappropriate behavior among young people. This empirical study was conducted to identify specific elements of etiquette known to the surveyed youth. The results indicate that respondents possess a strong command of basic societal rules. The findings suggest that future efforts should focus on reinforcing cultural norms and correcting deviant behaviors. Furthermore, the primary social environment must effectively prepare young people to function within a society governed by established cultural standards.
