Drawbridges of Zamość Fortress
Abstract
From the very beginning, the walls of the town and fortress of Zamość were defended by a moat. In order to enable communication with the fortress, there were drawbridges connecting it to the town gates. The article is exclusively based on plans and drawings of Zamość Fortress from different periods of its existence (16th – 19th century).
