An outline of political history of the Republic of Texas - selected aspects

Abstract

The history of the Republic of Texas is associated with the role of two powerful neighbors. On the one hand, Mexico wants to regain its territory. On the other hand, the United States is seeking to expand the sphere of influence. The Republic of Texas was built between them, built by American settlers. For nine years, only an independent Texas state existed. The existence of Texas, and then its annexation by the United States led to a war. As a result of this war, the American-Mexican border was formed, which exists to this day.
