The ninth issue of the scientific journal Fides, Ratio et Patria. Studies Toruńskie ”, published by the College of Social and Media Culture in Toruń is largely devoted to computer science. We live in the epoch a permanent IT revolution that covers all areas life. Incredible technological progress, increasing computing power, hitherto unimaginable new computer functions and sophisticated software they create enormous opportunities for the development of all areas of civilization. However, development
also carries with it certain dangers. Huge possibilities provided by digital technology must be accompanied by wise reflection. Is needed also good law, which, for example, will protect citizens from constant surveillance and violating their privacy.

This issue of our semi-annual journal includes both difficult, with specialized IT and mathematical preparation, as well as written in an accessible language, accessible to Readers about another education profile. In the Varia section, we publish a number of articles in history, theology and political science. We hope they will all arouse interest and will be the starting point for useful discussions and reflections.
