Actuality of Edmund Bojanowski's pedagogical thought and its application in early childhood education; analysis of the process in an international perspective

Abstract

Edmund Bojanowski developed his pedagogical thought in the middle of the 19th century and put it into practice, maintaining the principles resulting from the unchangeable nature of man, the laws of his development and the highest values, adapting the methods, forms and means of education to the socio-cultural specificity of a given environment. He included detailed recommendations in his rich legacy and thanks to that they are still being implemented in the tradition of educational work of the Congregation of Servant Sisters, undertaking educational activities in various countries of the world. By making a creative interpretation of Bojanowski's pedagogical thought, the Servant Sisters continue to read it anew in the changing socio-cultural conditions and in the face of current educational challenges. Its timeless and universal dimension constitutes the basis for its application in an international perspective.
