The Biography of John Paul II As a Source of Knowledge about Educating and Self-Educating. An Outline

Abstract

The life of Karol Wojtyła was full of sublime and dramatic events. His biography had a significant impact on his views on humans and their existence. He set high expectations for himself and others. He was an example of a person who effectively strove towards holiness. As John Paul II, he met people from almost all corners of the world, talked to them, taught them, advised and reprimanded them. He really cared for young generation, and he strove for their rights. He repeatedly pointed out that educating was the most important task of culture and it was essential for shaping social relations.

Referring to the facts from the life of the Pope, the author looks for tips for educational theory and practice. She reflects on integral education which deals with the development of the individual in numerous dimensions (including mental, aesthetic, moral, religious, social, patriotic, physical and health aspects).
