Priest Stanisław Kulanowski was a teacher, tutor and patron of youth in Rzeszów. In the years 1930-1950, he educated and raised students of the oldest I Gimnasium in the city, and organized care for talented but poor students in the Dormitory of Gimnasium. It should be added that his pedagogical and social activity also included other schools and associations and brought measurable results in the city in the years 1924-1950. He conducted catechesis in accordance with the provisions of church law, was a moderator of the Marian Sodality, actively participated in meetings and works of Catholic and social associations. He took care of the gymnasium church, was the director of the gymnasium dormitory. Involvement in the moral education of young people in the Catholic spirit, active participation in reactivating the activities of Catholic organizations after 1945 in Rzeszów, contributed to repression by the state authorities in People's Poland. As a result of the then state's policy of liquidating secular and Catholic associations after 1947, Father Kulanowski was charged and sentenced to prison. The Dormitory of which he was the director was nationalized.
