This article describes, analyses and popularises the figure of Fr Professor Józef Wilk, a Salesian with a big heart who strongly identified with and implemented the mission of Fr John Bosko. Fr Wilk was a passionate teacher, who educated and shaped young people and scientists for many years to make the world more human. The article explores the effective pedagogical concept of the preventive system developed by John Bosco. Fr Wilk methodically and substantively introduced and updated the concept. Attention is paid to his multifaceted scientific and didactic work focusing on children, students, young people, teachers and families. Above all, it is based on a master–student relationship. Fr Wilk was passionate about Christianity all his life and encouraged everyone to implement the commandment of love: he loved people and helped to implement this commandment at school, at university, at home and everywhere, especially where people needed it most.
