Deputy Pantler Tomaszowic: Reconstruction of the Biography of Roman Konopka, the Bearer of Nowina Coat of Arms

Abstract

The article reconstructs Roman Konopka’s biography. He was a poet, a so-called minorum gentium and a bearer of Nowina coat of arms. It also reconstructs the history of the village of Tomaszowice where the poet’s court was located. The biography has been reconstructed based on manuscripts, documents and studies available from many different sources. The history of the manor house in Tomaszowice has been arranged chronologically. The history of the court is extremely important in Konopka’s biography because this place was close to the poet’s heart and permanently influenced his life and work.
