Raising a Child in the Light of the Legacy of Saint Urszula Ledóchowska: Selected Aspects
Abstract
Based on the pedagogical thought, activity and literary work of Saint Urszula Ledóchowska - an exceptional woman, teacher, nun - the article attempts to present the child in the context of education consistent with the charisma of this holy Foundress of the new congregation. As a teacher, she strived to raise a religious child who loved Jesus in the Eucharist and was persistent in prayer. Her educational model was based on trust, love and joy. She understood the child and his needs, and emphasized the role of relatives, especially the mother, in the child's religious upbringing. She recognized the role of teachers in the process of raising a child.
