Halina Rogińska – Educator, Friend and Youth Educator, Co-Creator of Cultural Life of Zamość
Abstract
Halina Rogińska was one of the great but forgotten personalities of Zamość. She was a multi-talented and creative person, inspiring, full of energy and dedication to youth. She combined pedagogical, organisational and artistic skills. Her life was filled with youth, literature, poetry, art and theatre. She excelled in the educational function of her profession. She promoted education through art, aesthetic education and the culture of the Polish language. Through her work, which was directed at people and their development, she remained in the memory of her pupils as a warm, caring and outstanding educator. Zamość owes to her the shape and high level of cultural and artistic life, which she organised and developed over several decades - both in the interwar and post-war periods. She co-founded and managed the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Zamość for many years.
In today's world there is an unquestionable need to look for authorities, especially in these small homelands, in the living environment of today's inhabitants. Halina Rogińska, as an outstanding pedagogue, can be an inspiration to follow both in the aspect of her profession as a teacher and in her educational and artistic activity with regard to working with young people and in her activities for the development of culture in the city of Zamość and the region.
The aim of the article is to introduce the profile of H. Rogińska, her professional path and activities for the education and upbringing of young people, as well as her influence on the development of the cultural life of the city. The article presents the main facts of her pedagogical work, functions held and artistic activity. The article is based on archival sources, press articles, alumni memories and scientific publications.
