Around the Educational Concept of Jadwiga Zamoyska

Abstract

The article concerns the educational concept of Jadwiga Zamoyska (1831-1923), which she implemented in the schools she founded in the 19th century. The universal principles of education for full humanity, which the author based on the Catholic faith and national values, will be presented. The article will present the assumptions of organic work, which became the foundation of the schools created by Jadwiga Zamoyska, and will also analyze the goals and methods used in her concept of education. During the period of loss of independence, she took action to restore her homeland by promoting the need to improve oneself, raise the young generation and prepare them to take up family and social roles. Her concept includes an analysis of timeless problems related to upbringing and the issue of women, human work, concern for the common good, love of homeland and God.
