Stanisław Staszic – Polish Forerunner of Sustainable, Smart and Inclusive Development
Abstract
The article presents Stanisław Staszic – an outstanding Polish politician, social activist and philanthropist who lived in the 18th and 19th century. Against a stormy period in Polish history, it outlines the thoughts and views of Staszic, which can be described as almost identical to the present concepts of sustainable, smart and inclusive development. The described ideas and effective methods of their implementation prove that Staszic was a Polish forerunner of this type of development.
