The Biography of an Actress
About Agnieszka Rittendorff from Bogusławski’s Theatrical Enterprise
Abstract
In this material-concentrated article some biographic supplementations are made which regard Agnieszka Rittendorff, the actress of the Teatr Narodowy, who performed on the stage in the years 1804-1807, who had private bonds with Wojciech Bogusławski and who was Zofia Bogusławska’s mother. The repertoire of her stage performances was set in order with the indication of chronology and titles. Moreover accessing Zofia Bogusławska’s birth certificate made it possible to present some vital rectifications. Finding information about the roots of the Rittendorff’s daughter, her marriage with Ludwig Spitzbart and their progeny helped fill in the gaps in the artist’s biography, our knowledge about which was up until now very scarce. After these genealogical and biographical findings the family ties between A. Riteendorff and Władysław Rittendorff, the architect of Warsaw theatres, were also indicated.
