The priest Józef Wilk, as a Salesian and an associate professor at the KUL, uniquely linked pastoral activity and priestly service with scientific and didactic work on behalf of the family, which he saw as the basic and first environment for life and development, and a special place for the transmission of faith to future generations. The purpose of this article is to present the course of the process of religious upbringing of the child in the family as seen by Rev. Prof. Józef Wilk, which is an integral part of the entire process of upbringing. The main problem of this paper boils down to the question of what are the peculiarities, stages and conditions of religious upbringing of the child in the family in the research of Józef Wilk, and the method of solving it is the analysis of thematically selected source texts and analysis of the subject literature. The process of the argument began with a biographical sketch of Wilk, followed by a presentation of the professor's conceptual assumptions in the area of religious upbringing of the child in the family and a characterization of the phased transmission of faith in this environment as seen by the author.
