Henryk Romanowski (c. 1860 – c. 1940) – a Forgotten Polish Economist and Philosopher of Civilization, Defender of Personalistic Culture

Abstract

The author of the article discusses the philosophical, social and cultural thought underlying the upbringing and education left behind by Henryk Romanowski. He argued that both upbringing and education, as well as culture created within social life, stem from philosophical assumptions. According to Romanowski, erroneous modern and contemporary philosophical thought has understood attempts to create a social and cultural order not only in opposition to the main theses of Catholicism, but above all in relation to human nature. In this way, it contributed to harming man as a person.
