The community of Warsaw teachers and scout instructors in the 1920s and 1930s was the milieu in which Zofia Wołowska developed her professional skills and became an activist of Polish scouting. Today, this figure is mostly forgotten, although until the 1960s she had a significant influence on the shape of Polish scouting. You can learn more about her from a biography written by another teacher and scout instructor, Maria Uklejska, from the collection of the scout museum. This account, characterized by personal memories, is a testimony not only of Wołowska's life, but also of the atmosphere of those years. Zofia Wołowska deserves to have her memory restored, also as an outstanding representative of intelligentsia, she was interested in natural sciences, physics and broadly understood humanism, with particular emphasis on philosophy. She was a pioneer of mountaineering, a promoter of physical activity and mountain tourism.
