Abstrakt

W artykule podjęto analizy dorobku naukowego Marthy Craven Nussbaum w kontekście historii jej życia. Zamiarem autora było poszukiwanie możliwej zależności pomiędzy elementami historii życia Nussbaum, a proponowaną przez nią koncepcją rodziny. Zmierzając do realizacji postawionego celu, na podstawie pism Autorki zrekonstruowano jej koncepcję rodziny, opisano dotychczasową historię jej życia, wskazano na elementy tej historii, które mogły warunkować proponowaną przez nią koncepcję rodziny oraz określono specyfikę relacji pomiędzy elementami tej koncepcji, a poszczególnymi wydarzeniami z życia Marthy C. Nussbaum.
