The Arrest and Imprisonment of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski – Primate of Poland as Turning Points in His Biography

Abstract

The article, titled "The arrest and imprisonment of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski – Primate of Poland as a turning points in his biography", stops at the reality of the unlawful and unjust arrest and imprisonment of Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, treating them as turning points in his biography. The article consists of three parts. The first discusses the experience that Primate Wyszynski had when he was sentenced to isolation and solitude. The second part is devoted to a discussion of the way in which Priest Primate lived through his arrest and seclusion. The last part, on the other hand, describes the fruits of the persecution and seclusion. They are numerous and, among other things, manifest themselves as a rejuvenation of faith, the acquisition of strength, a new birth, as it were, a following of the crucified and risen Christ, and at the same time a desire to become more like the Savior, a devotion to Him without limit, an attempt to find meaning, a discovery that everything has a meaning, and a discovery of being an instrument in the hand of the Lord and His Mother – Lady of Jasna Góra.
