Habilitation of Rev. Professor Wincenty Myszor on the Basis of the Documentation of the Archdiocesan Archive in Katowice

Abstract

The habilitation procedure of an outstanding Polish patrologist, Rev. Wincenty Myszor (1941-2017), was discussed. The library researcher from Nag Hammadi was associated for years with the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw (now The Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University) and the University of Silesia in Katowice. Rev. W. Myszor's legacy to the Archdiocesan Archive in Katowice made it possible to present hitherto unknown facts about the donor's scientific career, including those about the habilitation received in 1982. Preparatory activities were described, the content of two reviews of the habilitator's achievements, the course of the colloquium, and the procedures crowning the efforts to obtain a scientific degree were presented.
