Scientific literature brings closer the figures of great pedagogues, creators of educational systems of upbringing, who, through their activities, contributed to the development of the theory and pedagogical practice. Many studies describe the contribution to the development of pedagogical thought of, for example, Janusz Korczak, Aleksander Kaminski, Maria Montessori, Celestin Freinet, and Fridrich Foerster. It is worth noting, however, that in addition to such flagship figures, whose activity for developing educational theory and practice is unquestionable, many lesser-known pedagogues have spent their entire professional lives and sometimes even personal lives devoted to the welfare and development of others. Among such persons certainly include Helena Kosina. Heavily experienced by life with the loss of a loved one and later the loss of her eyesight, she never stopped supporting others, especially children and young people. This text takes a closer look at her pedagogical and social activities.
