The Pedagogical Message in the Life and Activities of Blessed Carlo Acutis (1991–2006)
Abstract
The aim of the present article is to portray Carlo Acutis – “God’s influencer”– and the pedagogical message of his evangelizing activities. The blessed boy, raised in Milan, is an inspiration for young people, who are living in a pluralistic world of values and world views and feeling increasingly lost in the moral and spiritual sphere. The life of Carlo Acutis shows that nowadays one can discern pillars on which to base oneself, as well as role models that can indicate the right direction of life – based on love, respect for others, sensitivity to the suffering of the poor and the disadvantaged. The many commitments of the Blessed mostly came down to his evangelizing activities, which have valuable pedagogical implications, such as education toward values; indicating role models; promoting the good; or warning against an immoral life.
