The Importance of Pedagogical Biography in Education to Values in the Opinion of Students of Pedagogy

Abstract

Each pedagogical biography brings specific values ​​to the lives of those who get to know it. Reflection on pedagogical biography contributes to the creation of a new pattern of behavior in the process of learning from the biographies of others. The intention of the authors was to draw attention to learning from pedagogical biographies and the use of elements of this biography in educating students of pedagogy. The aim of the article was to present the opinions of pedagogy students on the importance / role of pedagogical biography in education to values. Research problems concerned, among others: understanding education through biography, indicating known biographies of educators, showing the values ​​of pedagogical biographies and indicating the educational and upbringing values ​​of biographies. The research used the method of a diagnostic survey with the use of the questionnaire technique. The research was aimed at students of pedagogy of two universities in Lublin. They included 120 students of pedagogy, whose age was in the range of 22-30 years.
