What Divides Us is Only Our Worldview
A Thing about the Cooperation between Maria Grzegorzewska and Elżbieta Róża Czacka
Abstract
The article is an attempt to analyze selected aspects of the phenomenon, which was the intense and effective cooperation of two outstanding figures in Polish typhlopedagogy: Professor Maria Grzegorzewska and Mother Elżbieta Róża Czacka. A particular attention was paid to the existence of clear differences in worldview between the two protagonists of the study, or, in terms of being more precise, to the issue of the lack of a negative impact of these differences on the quality and effects of their joint activities undertaken for the benefit of visually impaired people. The study exposes the fact that the ability to cooperate with people of fundamentally different worldviews, if it is undertaken with a view to people with disabilities, can be considered an important clue, worth taking into account for an adequate analysis and a personality characteristics of outstanding special educators.
