The aim of the article is to disseminate unknown facts from the biography of Stanisława Aleksandra Chmielarczyk (1867–1912), a forgotten artist of dramatic theatres in Warsaw under Russian rule, and her son, actor Maksymilian Chmielarczyk (1891–1953), pseudonym „Cybulski”. The author found unknown documents in the archives, including manuscripts of metrics and civil status records. The discovered documents allowed her to reveal previously unknown facts from Stanisława Aleksandra’s life: dates of birth and death, as well as the actress’s biography (single motherhood, marriage and her son’s Maksymilian wedding in 1911). The researcher reconstructed the family tree of the future actor, director, director of the Municipal Theatre in Lublin (1947–1949), and then the Juliusz Osterwa State Theatre in Lublin (1949–1952), in the times of socialist realism in Poland. In the context of the biography of the Chmielarczyk acting family, the article contains valuable references to unknown facts from the life of, among others: the artist Józef Cybulski (1840–1912).
